Course Overview:

The CompTIA Project+ training and certification program seeks to educate and recognize the particular organisational and leadership skills required by project managers and prepares candidates for the CompTIA Project+ Exam. This course is designed for candidates who are or will be involved in working on or managing projects and are looking to become independently accredited.

Pre-requirements

No prior Knowledge of Project Management is required but any experience in working on projects or using Microsoft Project would be an advantage.

Course Contents:

Understand the project and define expectations
Learn to take the given information regarding the project and formulate a concise project statement based upon that input.
Be able to discern the requirements of the project, how success will be measured, and the project's boundaries including time and budget.
Identify those involved in the project and the roles played.
Plan the Project
Express specifics of the project's outcome.
Develop a WBS or work breakdown structure.
Create a timeline.
Determine what resources will be required.
Lay out a line of communications plan
Execute the Project
Implement reporting standards to facilitate tracking of the project's progress.
Evaluate reports and determine if there are variances from the plan.
Alter the plan to accommodate variances.
Maintain communication with project team members.
Close the Project
Establish and define a review process.
Perform project acceptance testing.
Proper closures including vendor and stake-holder sign offs.
